Finding a therapist today is like dating — you sift through profile after profile hoping to find the right connection.

About the project

Problem: Finding a therapist today is like dating — you sift through profile after profile hoping to find the right connection. But unlike dating, where an entire industry of products has evolved to help people find real connections, therapist profiles have barely changed. After looking at just a few, they all start to sound the same: same credentials, same specialties, same static bio, with little sense of the person behind the professional. And for clients, the frustration doesn't end at browsing — reaching out often means getting declined or hearing nothing back at all, which makes an already vulnerable step feel even harder.

Who it helps: Therapists who struggle to stand out and connect with the right clients, and clients who struggle to find — and actually hear back from — the right therapist.

Solution: We start by changing how the therapist profile itself is presented, designing it more like a dating profile than a resume, so clients can connect with the human behind the credentials. Today, that lives as a browsable directory. The vision extends this into a full marketplace: instead of clients cold-contacting therapists one by one, clients post what they're looking for anonymously, and therapists who feel like a genuine fit review that profile and reach out first. The client then reviews the therapist's profile and decides whether to move forward with a consultation, already knowing the interest is mutual.

Impact: A better first match means therapy that's more likely to actually work — clients who stay engaged because they feel understood from the start, and therapists doing their best work with people they're genuinely suited to help. That ripples outward into healthier individuals, and healthier relationships and communities around them.
